LITTLE WICKETS  –  CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE (13th March 2020)

It’s Business as usual for now ….

As I am sure you all are, we are keeping a very close eye on developments as well as local & national guidance regarding the Coronavirus situation. At the moment all our sessions are running as normal. Our primary concern remains the wellbeing of the Little Wickets participants, their families, our staff and the wider community.

We ask that everybody attending one of our sessions follows the well-publicised public health & hygiene advice. If anyone is unwell with any of the potential symptoms of the COVID-19 infection or is concerned they may have been in close contact with someone else who has, we ask that they stay away from the sessions until the they are no longer believed to be infectious.  The media are keeping everyone up to date on general guidance & what to watch out for, so I won’t bombard you with it again here. However, if you are in any doubt please take a look at the links to the Government’s information below:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

For your information this is the guidance that we are following with regards to operating the sessions

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19

We also recognise that some people may chose not to participate in the sessions for a variety of reasons, while there are ongoing concerns over the spread of the disease.

If you are not going to attend any sessions due to Coronavirus concerns or illness please do let us know as soon as possible by email to info@littlewickets.com. Our Terms & Conditions state that we cannot refund missed sessions, however, we will issue you with a credit for any ‘Coronavirus’ missed sessions, from the date we are informed or your intention. You will be able to use the credit towards  any Little Wickets activity (Camps & Weekly Sessions) in the future.

We are in direct contact with all our venues and continue to monitor government advice & regional situation closely. If any of our venues decide to close to public events/activities &/or Schools/Nursery settings locally or nationally close under governmental advice then we will suspend some or all of our sessions until such time we are satisfied that small group children’s activities can start up again.  Officially this term of Little Wickets weekly sessions ends on Sunday 5th April and then we have 2 weeks off over Easter, with the Summer term scheduled to start again on Monday 20th April. Fingers crossed we can keep to those dates!

We are also aware that another children’s activity provider who uses the same venue as we do in West Bridgford has suspended their classes as of this weekend, on the basis of the current Coronavirus situation.  We have been in direct contact with them and they have confirmed that their decision was not made because of a specific case or information they have received about or from the venue. It is a voluntary choice by the organiser based on their assessment of the prevailing situation. We are choosing to use the advice of the Government as our lead but obviously remain vigilant to local changes in circumstance.

We may also have to cancel some or all of our Holiday Activities.  The decision over these will be made on a camp by camp basis.  For now, we are still taking bookings. We will defer payment for all our Holiday Activities until closer to the start dates and we know for sure what is happening.  However, if we have to cancel any of the camps and you have already paid we will issue a refund in full or a credit, depending on your preference. We obviously hope that all the holiday activities will go ahead and in fact they may well offer exactly the kind of distraction/release that the kids will need (not to mention the parents). Early Booking Discounts are still available if people book before the deadline date even if payments are taken after that date. Places are limited, so please don’t delay. Many parents are already booking ahead to make sure they & their kids  can take  full advantage of the opportunity if it turns out that Coronavirus doesn’t stop normal activtiities from taking place over the Easter holidays. All the dates & timings of our Holiday Activities can be found on our website and Facebook Page.

If we cancel any of our regular sessions or holiday activities, we will do the following in this order;

  1. Immediately put a post on the Little Wickets Facebook Page(https://www.facebook.com/LittleWickets/). This will automatically update the Home page of our website (littlewickets.com). But please make sure you are following our Facebook feed & have your notification settings on so that you receive the information immediately.
  2. Only if a session that is the same day has to be cancelled, we will text the Emergency Contact’s mobile number we have on file at the earliest opportunity. Please feel free to email us to check which number we have on record for you, especially if you have changed numbers since starting Little Wickets.

If the sessions concerned are more than 24 hours away then we will:

  1. Email the primary contact email address we have on record.
  2. Update our other social media channels; Twitter and Instagram (search and follow/like @LittleWickets)
  3. Update the website news feed

This is obviously a very fluid situation and we would like to thank all of our Little Wickets families for their patience, understanding & co-operation in what is potentially a very stressful sitution for everyone.

Please feel free to email or call us if you have any questions or concerns.  The quickest & easiest way to contact us is via email to info@littlewickets.com or you can phone us on 0115 671 0565 but please note this number is not manned 24/7 so you may have to leave a message and we will call you back as soon as is practically possible which may be the next working day(Monday – Friday).

Thank you again for your continued support.
